Susan; There are a number of things you can do to increase customer traffic by giving your current customers reasons to come back to your store more frequently. If you aren't already doing so, you can collect the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all of your customers. You can then send them a letter or postcard inviting them in again to see new merchandise, for a special sales event, or a trunk show. You can also call and invite them back into the store. To get more new customers, you can give your current customers a discount on their own personal purchases or maybe give them a small gift when they bring in a new customer that buys.The key to getting your current customers back in more often and attracting new customers is to make sure you offer compelling reasons to come in and buy. These include; new merchandise, special sales events, frequent-buyer programs, end-of-season merchandise clearances, fashion shows, and lots more. The opportunities are endless.
